Pentasol AGS-DM is an inexpensive, low toxicity, high boiling point, low smell solvent. It finds use in resin cleaners, hard surface cleaners, heavy duty hard cleaners, polishes, floor wax strippers, ink cleaners, paint strippers, graffiti removers, carpet shampoos.
Solubility:
Pentasol AGS-DM can replace following solvents: Methylene chloride, isophorone, butyl diglycol, glycol ethers, cresylic acid, glycol ether acetate, ketones, acetone.
Solvents and resins show good solubility in Pentasol AGS-DM. New formulations using Pentasol Pentasol AGS-DM can be made easily and quickly, with cost savings and reduced toxicity. Pentasol AGS-DM has a similar solubility profile to isophorone, diacetone alcohol and 2-ethoxyethyl acetate (ethyl glycol acetate). In order to optimise the solvent properties, Pentasol AGS-DM is usually mixed with other solvents.
Solubility in typical solvents:
Alkohols, Esters, Glycols, Glycol ethers, Glycol ether acetates, Halogenated solvents, Heptane, Hydrocarbons (except xylene and heptane), Ketones.
Low solubility (5%) Pentasol AGS-DM + 10% non-ionic surfactant (e.g. synperoic AS ) is soluble in water and furthermore it is partially soluble in Xylene.
Most resins are soluble in Pentasol AGS-DM e.g.:
Acryl, alkyd, amino, cellulose, epoxy, phenol, phenoxy, polyester imide, polyester, polyvinylacetal, styrene, urethane resins. Polyvinylacetate is soluble in a mixture of Pentasol AGS-DM and N-methyl-2-pyrolidone (70:30).
