A new partnership for Benzoate plasticizers in the German speaking countries of Europe
TRIGON Chemie is pleased to announce its new cooperation with Velsicol Chemical. Under this partnership, TRIGON Chemie has become the exclusive distributor/representative of Velsicol Chemical for the Velsiflex®- range of benzoate plasticizers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
This cooperation has enabled TRIGON Chemie to expand its portfolio of benzoate products and provides customers additional alternatives for modern plasticizer applications.
Long-standing experience in benzoate chemistry
Due to TRIGON Chemie’s earlier cooperation with Pentagon Chemicals (UK) Ltd., benzoate salts and esters have been part of TRIGON Chemie’s product portfolio since the 1970s. From this cooperation extensive experience and technical know-how have been built up, which became the foundation of this new cooperation with Velsicol Chemical.
Benzoate esters are gaining increasing importance
Over recent years, benzoate esters have gained increasing attention worldwide. They offer an interesting alternative to traditional phthalate plasticizers (phthalic acid esters) and provide solutions with a different safety and sustainability profile.
Phthalates are increasingly coming under regulatory review due to their properties as endocrine disruptors, with consequent impact on human health and the environment. This is also the case in the use of plasticizers in flexible PVC systems.
European requirements for products and materials are continuously evolving under the EU-REACH and other regulations. The need for solutions which fulfill both the technical requirements as well as the ever more stringent health and environmental regulations is growing correspondingly.
Velsiflex® complements the exisiting product portfolio
The Velsiflex® range of products from Velsicol Chemical is an ideal addition to TRIGON Chemie’s existing benzoate portfolio.
Benzoates esters are used in a wide range of applications, including flexible PVC, adhesives, coatings, cosmetics as well as in peroxide phlegmatizers.
TRIGON Chemie’s market experience and customer support is augmented by Velsicol Chemical’s product know-how. Together, the two partners provide customers with even more targeted support in selecting optimal solutions.
