MB AR/PBT-30 is a masterbatch for chain extension, in particular for PET, but also in PBT and PET/PBT blends. It is used to increase the molecular weight and the viscosity of the final polymer, without altering the mechnical properties of the polymer.

The chain extension is carried out via a chemical reaction in the molten polymer during extrusion. The low molecular polymer chains are joined together to form longer chained polymers, whilst maintaining the original linear structure:

• The molecular weight of PET and PBT is increased
• Very good results with humid and dry PET
• No change in the polymer rheology (fluidity)
• No significant change in polymeric transparency
• Very good dispersion in the polymer
• Low feed rate, recommended dosage: 0.3 - 1.0 %, therefore very cost effective
• Suitable for contact with food in the EU
  
  

Usage:
The use of MB AR/PBT-30 enables the amount of recycled polymer in the final product to be significantly increased, without adversely affecting its properties. It can thus lead to considerable cost savings.
